Botswana (BOCRA) - Type Approval Repair Services Guidelines

The Botswana Communications Regulatory Authority (BOCRA) officially published The Type Approval Repair Services Guidelines, and they came into effect on April 1, 2022.

The objectives of the Guidelines include:

  • Protecting consumers from poor maintenance and repair services which could negatively impact health and safety

  • Accrediting Repair Services Providers, and including approved, accredited Repair Service Providers in the Type Approval Management System

  • Ensuring Type Approved devices are repaired by Authority approved and accredited Repair Service Providers

  • Ensuring the disposal of electronic waste is in accordance with Waste Management procedures

  • Registering Type Approval Certificate holders who were assisted with repair services by accredited Repair Service Providers

  • Ensuring that consumers receive full support after sales
