Brazil (ANATEL) - Portaria No. 2257

April, 2022

The National Telecommunications Agency (ANATEL) in Brazil has issued Portaria No. 2257, which implements a simplified analysis process when reviewing homologation requests submitted to the authority after the tests reports and Certificate of Conformity are issued. With this new decree, ANATEL’s lead time to review the process will be reduced. There is no new official lead time informed, but the act indicates that analysis of homologation requests will take half the amount of time as before. This simplified analysis does not apply to a few product types, however the majority of RF and cellular devices are covered by the new regulation.
