The Certification and Accreditation Administration (CNCA) of China released Notice No. 10 of 2023 on March 16, 2023.
The Notice No. 10 - The State Administration for Market Regulation announced the implementation of mandatory certification for lithium-ion batteries and other products. As of August 1, 2023, designated certification bodies (CBs) will accept CCC applications for newly included products.
Beginning August 1, 2024, products that have not received CCC certifications and marks will not be allowed to leave the factory or to be sold or imported. Lithium-ion batteries and battery packs used in electronic and electrical products are newly included the CCC certification scope, and will be tested in accordance with the new standard GB 31241-2022 when it comes into force.
The GB 31241-2022 - Safety Technical Specifications for Lithium-ion Batteries and Battery Packs for Portable Electronic Products, which was released on December 29, 2022, would be implemented on January 1, 2024. This new standard will replace GB 31241-2014 beginning January 1, 2024.
