European Commission Adopts Cybersecurity of Wireless Devices

The European Commission has adopted the RED Delegated Act on Cybersecurity on October 29, 2021. The Delegated Act helps to ensure all wireless devices are safe before being sold in the EU by improving network resilience, better protecting consumer privacy, and reducing risk of monetary fraud.

Wireless devices which are covered by this Delegated Act include mobile phones, tablets, and other products capable of communicating over the internet, Within scope also, are toys and childcare equipment such as baby monitors, as well as a range of wearable equipment such as smartwatches and fitness trackers.
