The Public Utilities Regulatory Authority (PURA) in Gambia went through a series of consultative industry preparedness, framework development, and re-farming of spectrum for ensuring spectrum bands and bandwidths necessary for 5G deployment were available. PURA announced on June 15, 2023, that they have endorsed the deployment of 5G technology by QCELL, and that the 5G network has officially been launched in Gambia.
