The Office of the Communications Authority (OFCA) in Hong Kong has released a General Advise helping consumers make an informed choice of legitimate Wi-Fi devices available for use in Hong Kong. The General Advise includes information related to licensing requirements of Wi-Fi devices, what types of Wi-Fi 6E devices are not permitted in Hong Kong, Communications Authority label examples, and penalties for bringing back Wi-Fi 6E Access Points from overseas to Hong Kong. OFCA also indicates that certification and labeling for Access Points for Wi-Fi 6E is compulsory, and that certification and labeling of Client Devices for Wi-Fi 6E is voluntary.
