India (BIS) - Conformity Assessment Scheme Change for LV Switchgear and Control Gear

The Ministry of Heavy Industries previously issued the Electrical Equipment (Quality Control) Order, 2020 for Low Voltage Switchgear and Controlgear on November 11, 2020. It was scheduled to come into effect on May 10, 2023.

The Ministry of Heavy Industries released a Memorandum on February 27, 2023 informing that LV Switchgear and Controlgear products will now be under Scheme-X instead of Scheme-II in the Compulsory Registration Scheme (CRS) in order to more efficiently achieve the deadline for the implementation of the Order above.
