India (WPC) -Gazette G.S.R. 347(E)

May, 2022

The Wireless Planning and Coordination (WPC) Wing in India has published Gazette G.S.R. 347(E) about The Use of Low Power Radio Frequency Devices in the frequency band 433.05-434.79 MHz (Exemption from License) Rules, 2022 on May 9, 2022.

In previous Gazettes the occupied bandwidth limit was restricted to 10 kHz, which impacted importation of devices and made it difficult to obtain an ETA Certificate. Now there is no restriction on the bandwidth limit, and manufacturers may apply for ETA Certificate for devices operating in the 433.05-434.79 MHz frequency band and existing applied ETA Certificates remain valid and does not require reapplication. The new G.S.R. details have not been updated in the WPC Portal yet.
