Malaysia (MCMC) - Revised Technical Codes

The Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) published the following new revised technical codes:


MCMC MTSFB TC T004:2022 – Specification for Digital Terrestrial Television (DTT) Broadcast Receiver (Second Revision)

  • The operating frequency for DTT broadcast services has been updated to 470-694 MHz.

  • The SKMM MTSFB TC T004:2013 shall be used for DTT broadcast receiver equipment certification until the MSTFB Working Group revises the common test suite (MCMC MTSFB TC T011).


MCMC MTSFB TC T006:2022 – Specification for Direct-To-Home (DTH) Broadcast Receiver for Set Top Box (STB) (Second Revision)

  • The latest EMC Standards have been updated.


MCMC MTSFB TC T014:2022 – Digital Terrestrial Television (DTT) – Active Indoor Antenna (First Revision)

  • A grace period of 6 months has been granted to existing interim approvals. During this period the applicant must submit the equipment to SIRIM for testing in order to obtain the full approval, otherwise the certificate will be held or cancelled from renewal.


MCMC MTSFB TC T015:2022 – IMT-Advanced (Long Term Evolution) – User Equipment (First Revision)

  • The operating band plans have been updated to include the operating frequency 800 MHz (LTE Band 20)

  • The 700 MHz frequency band (LTE Band 28) has been assigned for the purpose of anchoring for 5G UE operations in Non-standalone (NSA) mode as specified in MCMC SRSP MS 700.

  • The “Caller Ring Back Tone” clause is not applicable to LTE UE which only support digital features.
