Mauritius (ICTA)- Propose New Regulations for Telecom Network Security

The Information and Communication Technologies Authority (ICTA) of Mauritius released a press release on March 24, 2023, informing about ICTA’s participation at the World Summit Information Society (WSIS) High-Level Policy Forum 2023. At the Forum, the ICTA Chairman highlighted that ICTA is working on new regulations with the Telecommunication Development Bureau (BDT) of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU).


ICTA is considering imported telecommunications equipment to comply with new schemes for type approval prior to entering the country. The proposed telecommunications network security regulations would include GSMA Network Equipment Security Assurance Scheme (NESAS) and Common Criteria (CC) standards.
