The National Information & Communications Technology Authority (NICTA) of Papua New Guinea has published the ICT Equipment Type Approval Rule 2022 on February 2, 2023. Certificates will be valid for only 3 years under the new regulation, but currently NICTA is still issuing approvals with indefinite validity.
Under the new rules, NICTA will issue a renewal notice for certificates set to expire within 30 days, in which certificate holders must pay the renewal fee prior to the expiration date or face cancellation of the certificate.
