Thailand (NBTC) - Public Consultations

The National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC) of Thailand has released the three public consultations:

  • Draft NBTC Rules on the Acceptance of Inspection and Certification of Telecommunications Equipment and Standards by the Office of the NBTC

The consultation may be accessed here and will be available for comments until October 10, 2022.

  • Draft NBTC Notifications on Criteria for Spectrum Licensing 5.925-6.425 GHz; Technical Standards of telecommunication equipment for radiocommunication equipment using frequency 5.925-6.425 GHz; and Criteria for Use of Frequency Waves and Radio Communication Equipment Permitted for General Use (No. 2)

The 6 GHz frequency band is not yet available in Thailand since there are no regulations to support it, and the announcements above aim to support the use of new technology that utilizes the 5.925-6.425 GHz frequency band. The consultation may be accessed here and will be available for comments until October 12, 2022.

  • Draft NBTC Notification on Criteria for Permission to Use Radiocommunication Equipment in Fixed Affairs in the Frequency Range 57-66 GHz

This public consultation revises the technical standards and criteria for permission to use telecommunication equipment and radiocommunication equipment in the 57-66 GHz frequency band. The consultation may be accessed here and will be available for comments until October 17, 2022.
