USA (FCC) - Bans Authorizations for Communications Devices Posing National Security Threat

The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) in the USA implemented new rules in the Secure Equipment Act of 2021 on November 25, 2022. These new rules prohibit the authorization of communications and video surveillance equipment that is deemed to pose a threat to national security. Equipment under the Covered List will not be authorized through the FCC Certification process, nor under the Supplier’s Declaration of Conformity process, and are unable to be imported or marketed under rules allowing for exemption from equipment authorization.
