FCC Proposed Rule: Strengthening Oversight of Telecommunications Certification

The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has issued a proposed rule titled "Promoting the Integrity and Security of Telecommunications Certification Bodies, Measurement Facilities, and the Equipment Authorization Program." This proposal aims to enhance the requirements and oversight of telecommunications certification bodies and measurement facilities. The goal is to ensure the integrity of these entities in the equipment authorization process, strengthen national security measures, and advance the FCC's strategy to create a more secure and resilient communications supply chain.

Comments on the proposal are due by September 3, 2024, with reply comments accepted until October 3, 2024.
