ISED Publishes New Standard: RSS-193 for Flexible Use Broadband Equipment (27.5-28.35 GHz)

Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada (ISED) has released Radio Standards Specification (RSS) RSS-193, Issue 1, "Flexible Use Broadband Equipment Operating in the Band 27.5-28.35 GHz."
This new specification outlines the requirements for the certification of flexible use broadband equipment. This equipment is utilized in both fixed and mobile services and operates within the 27.5-28.35 GHz frequency band. The RSS-193 applies to base station, fixed service equipment, and subscriber equipment within this frequency range.
Implications for Testing Laboratories
For testing laboratories, the new RSS-193 includes specific provisions:
Automatic Recognition: Laboratories currently recognized for RSS-191 and RSS-192 will automatically receive recognition for RSS-193.
Accreditation Renewal: Following a six-month period, any laboratory renewing its recognition will be required to have RSS-193 explicitly listed on their scope of accreditation.
