On November 30, 2022, Circular No. 24/2022/TT-BTTTT was enacted by the Minister of Information and Communications, introducing technical regulation QCVN 132:2022/BTTTT on electrical safety for telecommunications terminal equipment. Aligned with IEC 62368-1:2018, it becomes effective on January 1, 2024, covering a range of Information Technology Equipment (ITE) like desktops, laptops, tablets, TVs, set-top boxes, amplifiers, and wireless telephone equipment.
Certification requirements, outlined in Circular 04/2023/TT-BTTTT effective from July 15, 2023, mandate compliance with QCVN 132 by manufacturers before January 1, 2024. Certification processes involve testing in Vietnam MIC-accredited labs or obtaining a test report from MIC MRA Labs.
